The primary task of the IT Department is to provide IT services to the entire Swedish Police Authority. The IT Department is a crucial part of crime prevention and law enforcement work, and IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining the police force and improving the quality of police work. The department develops and modernizes the police's IT systems, and the authority is investing heavily in strengthening the department with new specialist competence and the latest technology to benefit citizens and to streamline administration for employees in police operations.
We operate in an exciting but complex and changing field where we strengthen the authority's law enforcement capabilities with skills in cybercrime and IT forensics. We are responsible for the police's expertise in the collection, processing, and analysis of digital evidence. The product portfolio consists mainly of purchased systems but also includes in-house developed systems within the area.
To succeed in our mission, we work closely with operations and together within our internal organization at the IT Department. As an employee, you have great opportunities to plan your daily work with flexible working hours and the possibility to work remotely two days a week.
Job Responsibilities
As a Technical Product Specialist, you will play a key role in managing, developing, and optimizing capabilities within the areas of cybercrime and IT forensics. The work is varied and combines both strategic and operational tasks, including responsibility for:
- Management and further development
- Requirements gathering and specification towards suppliers
- Packaging and implementation of new solutions and versions
- Troubleshooting and technical support
- Life-cycle management and quality assurance
- Documentation and knowledge sharing
In this role, you collaborate with end-users to understand their needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate these insights into clear requirements and development initiatives. You drive the dialogue forward and actively contribute to ensuring our technical solutions create real operational value.

This is an opportunity for you if you have:
- Upper secondary education, or equivalent acquired experience assessed by the Swedish Police Authority as equivalent
- At least one year of relevant work experience within an IT department or equivalent assessed by the Swedish Police Authority as relevant
- Experience in technical support

- Experience troubleshooting in client and server environments
- Experience with databases, e.g., SQL
- Experience with containerization platforms
- Experience in project/task management
- Experience working with suppliers
- Experience with Confluence and Jira
- Experience with products within our areas of cybercrime and IT forensics
Personal Attributes
We are looking for you who are solution-focused and dare to take on tasks where the prerequisites are not always fully clear. The tasks require you to be proactive and have an unpretentious and service-oriented approach towards operations, colleagues, managers, and others affected. You take personal responsibility and work in a structured manner where documentation is a natural part of the job. You have good ability to work both independently and in a group.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and your personal attributes.
