As our IT division at Svenska kraftnät grows, so does the unit's mandate. The Data and Reporting Platform will become an increasingly important part of Svenska kraftnät's data initiatives. We are looking for a System Administrator within the Data Platform who wants to join Svenska kraftnät's data-driven journey by managing and further developing our data platforms that truly make a difference for the entire organization.

About the role

Here you will become part of the Data Analysis and Data Platform unit, which is responsible for providing platforms for data storage, analysis, and sharing to enable secure and efficient use of data and information across the authority. The unit handles inquiries and orders regarding structured data, such as data extracts and published reports.

The unit consists of an engaged team of 20 employees with competencies in data analysis, backend and frontend development, as well as IT specialists who handle architecture, application operations, and support for our platforms. We work cross-functionally according to agile principles together with portfolio managers and product owners, focusing on both maintenance and further development.

In your role as System Administrator, you will work with the maintenance, operations, and further development of our data platforms for Analytics. You are responsible for ensuring the data platform functions optimally and that important reports and analyses are provided with correct data in a timely manner. You will also ensure that the Hadoop/Cloudera platform is developed to handle even more data, including from new data sources.

The role will also include:

• Working with database management, e.g., SQL Server
• Connecting new data sources, debugging, updates, upgrades, monitoring, and developing data flows
• Proposing technical solutions and proactively improving the platform
• Acting as a sounding board for various stakeholders, e.g., in the development of new IT solutions

An important part of the role going forward is to work with the rest of the team to further develop the existing data lake to structure, simplify, and streamline the work of retrieving and using data.

In this role, you will be a key person in driving Svenska kraftnät's data-driven development and strengthening the organization's ability to use data as a basis for decisions and insights. About you

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who enjoys system administration, Linux, storage, performance, building clusters, pipelines for data processing, as well as monitoring and alerting – with the goal of keeping both servers and users happy. You have a structured and analytical approach to work and navigate easily in complex environments. Translating needs into robust, secure, and well-functioning technical solutions that create value for the business motivates you, as does staying updated on technological developments. As a person, you are stable and flexible and thrive in a changing environment. You are forward-looking, take initiative, and can drive your work forward independently. Furthermore, you have a relevant university or college degree in computer science, systems science, systems development, or a University College Institution (YH) education in IT, or equivalent experience or competence acquired in other ways that Svenska kraftnät deems equivalent.

You also have:

• Several years of work experience from managing databases, e.g., SQL Server
• Experience working with databases in development or production environments
• At least 5 years of experience working in Linux environments, including scripting
• Good knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Kafka, Python, ETL, Git, integration, machine learning, system administration, security, and testing
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

We consider it meritorious if you have:

• Experience managing big data solutions based on clusters, e.g., Hadoop
• Good experience in optimizing SQL and data flows as well as operational stability
• Experience with tools for case management, version control, artifact management, as well as continuous integration and deployment, e.g., Azure DevOps
• Good experience with command-line work via e.g., Bash or PowerShell
• Experience with DevOps and/or DataOps
