The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency for Psychological Defence (MPF) safeguards an open and democratic society and free opinion formation by identifying, analyzing, and responding to improper information influence and other misleading information directed at Sweden or Swedish interests.
The agency is led by a Director-General and has approximately 90 employees. The agency has offices in Karlstad and Solna.
The administrative department consists of fourteen people and is responsible for finance, legal affairs, HR, archives and registry, reception, caretaking, and IT support. The department is expanding and is now looking for a System Administrator/DevOps based in Solna.
In the agency's data lab, technology, data analysis, and operational capability meet. The lab develops and operates the tools and environments required to collect, process, and analyze large amounts of data – increasingly supported by AI and language models.
Responsibilities
As a System Administrator/DevOps, you will work with the data lab and be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and integrating the infrastructure that analysts use in their daily work. You build solutions in both cloud and on-premise environments, ensure they maintain high security, and make sure the tools the business needs are in place. You work closely with colleagues with complementary competencies. Together, you shape a rapidly developing operation, where you have significant scope to influence both technical choices and working methods.
Examples of tasks:
- Provide technical support for AI-driven analysis work with language models.
- Work according to Infrastructure as Code and GitOps.
- Deploy tools – both internally developed and external solutions.
- Manage and maintain internal and external database and storage solutions.
- Adapt and harden equipment.
Qualifications
This job requires:
- Relevant university education or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways.
- Knowledge of IT operations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft environments (Office, client, server, and AD).
- Knowledge of Linux and open source.
- Knowledge within OSINT, data analysis, and how AI can strengthen operational analysis work.
The following are meritorious:
- Experience of system administration and system integration, preferably in an operation working with data collection and data analysis.
- Experience of containerization and orchestration.
- Experience of Infrastructure as Code and GitOps.
- Proficiency in scripting and writing code, for example in Python.
- Knowledge of IT security and incident management.
- Experience of administering AI resources.
Personal qualities:
We believe you are driven by curiosity and by seeing your technology make a difference. You are confident working independently, but are also receptive, happy to share your knowledge, and collaborate closely with colleagues with other competencies. Since the operation is still shaping its working methods, we believe you are unpretentious, take initiative, and are comfortable finding ways forward. In a technical environment that is constantly developing, you see environmental monitoring and continuous learning as a natural part of the job.
About the position
The employment is permanent and full-time, starting with a probationary period.
We conduct a security clearance with register control according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required. The agency is part of Sweden's total defense, and the position therefore entails war posting.
We look forward to receiving your application!
