Description
Hökegården AG is an adapted upper secondary school in Gothenburg. The school consists of two units that collaborate and share facilities, employing approximately 50 staff members and having 44 students. Our students attend the individual programs of the adapted upper secondary school and are at various developmental levels with intellectual disabilities. We are now looking for two dedicated student assistants who want to support our students in their education. One position is permanent, and the other is a fixed-term contract with good prospects for extension.
Responsibilities
As a student assistant on the individual program, you work based on each individual student's abilities and needs. It is important to us that you believe in the students' potential for development and that you see opportunities instead of obstacles. At the school, we adapt our working methods to meet students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mobility impairments. Some have multiple disabilities, such as epilepsy, visual impairment, hearing impairment, etc. Students need support in most situations during the school day. We want to stimulate students' curiosity and creativity by varying teaching with the help of, for example, music, art, and digital tools.
Together with competent and experienced colleagues, you work in a team consisting of a special education teacher and several student assistants. You implement and develop the students' education and help find individual solutions so that the student can acquire knowledge in six subject areas: language and communication, aesthetic activities, physical education and health, nature and environment, home economics and consumer knowledge, and social studies.
