Description

In the City of Gothenburg, you will find the country's largest operation for adapted upper secondary school. We are now looking for a student assistant for the centrally located Burgården adapted upper secondary school, where students follow national programs. Your placement will be at the school unit offering education within the Hotel, Restaurant and Bakery program as well as the Health, Care and Nursing program.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a student assistant who provides various forms of support so that every student has the best possible conditions to learn and develop throughout the day and to achieve set educational goals.

The student assistant functions as a pedagogical support for the students and works together with the teacher based on current governing documents. The student assistant's tasks include various areas of work, such as pedagogical and social support, care support, and communication. The assignment may be directed towards an individual student or a group of students and may vary over time. This means, among other things, that you will assist our teachers in various teaching situations. Your role as a student assistant with us involves both supporting and listening, as well as setting boundaries and creating clarity, structure, and security throughout the school day. To succeed, you must have the ability to adapt your working method to the students' conditions and daily state, as well as the ability to recognize and utilize their differences.

Together with other student assistants and educators, you support students in various pedagogical situations and during their breaks, but you may also assist, for example, with changing clothes and toilet visits. Some students may exhibit challenging behavior, which you and your colleagues work to prevent, while also managing the student's immediate well-being.

You will work in close collaboration with your colleagues and are included in work teams, professional teams, or other constellations. At the school unit, we continuously work on competence-enhancing initiatives in the form of supervision or training.
