Nurse for ASIH and Palliative Care – Region Skåne

About the Operations

The operations consist of Advanced Home Care (ASIH) with responsibility for the patient's care around the clock, but may also include other targeted palliative or curative measures. Within ASIH, we collaborate with the municipalities of Hässleholm, Perstorp, and Osby. Additionally, there is a joint palliative care unit for ASIH Hässleholm and Kristianstad located in Kristianstad.

Palliative care is supportive care when the disease can no longer be cured. Treatment focuses on preventing and relieving symptoms and supporting relatives. We are responsible for specialized palliative care in Northeastern Skåne. There are no restrictions based on diagnosis or age; the need for specialized palliative care is the determining factor. We work in teams consisting of doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, dietitians, and medical secretaries.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of a nurse with us, you provide advanced home care and work in a cross-professional team where the goal of care is to achieve the best possible quality of life, among other things, through collaboration on the symptoms troubling the patient. This involves meeting the patient's physical, psychological, social, and existential needs, as well as providing support to relatives. You lead and actively participate in planning the patient's care together with other professions, working with a person-centered approach and considering the whole life situation.

You will receive an individualized on-the-job training. We follow an induction program developed at the unit, and after the completion of the on-the-job training, a mentorship follows where you receive support from an experienced colleague in palliative care, based on your needs. We value development work and further education for both new and experienced staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

We are looking for you who are confident in your professional role and have the patient in focus, meaning you have the ability to see the patient as an individual and their needs. We see that you gladly share your knowledge, your engagement, and your positive attitude, contributing to a good work climate. We highly value a desire to be involved in our development work. Since part of the work involves support and conversations, it is important that you are communicative and have the ability to meet people on different levels. Furthermore, you have a flexible approach and can prioritize between different tasks when the work pace is high.

We believe you enjoy working in teams and have good cooperation skills. The operations are currently in a phase of development and construction, which means that increased flexibility and openness regarding tasks are valued, as we see a need to revise tasks to further use the right competence for the right tasks.

Formal Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare.
• Swedish language skills at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale.
• Valid B driver's license.

We prefer that you have a few years of experience as a nurse, and if you have specialist training in oncology and/or palliative care, it is an advantage.
