The Surgical and Gastroenterology Department at Skåne University Hospital encompasses surgical and gastroenterological activities in Malmö and Lund, as well as surgical activities in Landskrona. We provide specialized and highly specialized care.

The Colorectal Surgery Department in Malmö is an elective department caring for patients undergoing surgical interventions in the intestines. The department has 20 beds, and we work in teams consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and the rehabilitation team. The department has new facilities on the hospital grounds in Malmö.

We strive to work evidence-based and with patient-centered care. The staff actively works in various groups to develop and drive the operations forward.

Job Description

Here, you will have an exciting and developmental job in a pleasant work climate. You will be surrounded by friendly and competent colleagues with long experience.

As a nurse, you will work with preoperative preparations and postoperative care of patients who have undergone colorectal surgery. Stoma care is an important part of the treatment. You will also work with advanced pain relief and be responsible for medical treatment. The pain specialists visit several times a week to follow up on pain management. ERACS standard care plans are applied to ensure safe and good care for our patients, facilitating the development of your clinical insight as well as documentation.

We offer a comprehensive introduction program that we follow up on regularly to ensure you feel secure when you start working independently with your patients. Additionally, we have internal lectures within the department that we plan together with our employees. You have the opportunity to plan your schedule yourself as we use TimeCare, allowing you (if you are newly graduated) to schedule your clinical base year from the start.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who is a positive and responsive nurse. Your work is characterized by a high sense of responsibility and your flexibility. In addition, we would like you to be structured, reliable, and meticulous. You see challenges as opportunities, enjoy collaborating, and always consider the patient's best interest. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Regarding formal competence, you are a licensed nurse with the eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at level C1 or higher according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement.

You will be given an individual introduction adapted to your previous knowledge and experience.
