Bartender — The Grand Social, Gävle

On Drottninggatan 23, The Grand Social is opening its doors — the city's new living room for long evenings. Darts, shuffleboard, karaoke, games everywhere — but the heart of the place is the bar.

This is where the night begins. A first drink. A pitcher of sangria for the table. A cold beer before shuffleboard. A gin tonic that someone photographs. A cava bubbling over. And later, when the clock ticks past twelve, the energy from the bar transforms into a club atmosphere — with lights, sound, music, and a room that moves.

We are now looking for bartenders who want to be part of this from the start and help build this feeling.

The direction is Mediterranean and Spanish. Pitchers of sangria, cava, characterful gin tonics, vermouth, Spanish wines, and cocktails that suit long evenings with food, games, and music. But we don't lock ourselves into one style. We want to create a bar that dares to borrow, test, simplify, refine, and find its own unique style.

This is a role for you who appreciate both craftsmanship and tempo. You should be able to mix beautiful drinks, but also understand that a full house requires flow. Some drinks need to be built quickly, others can take their time. Some guests want to chat, others just want the next round without waiting. This is where a good bartender makes a difference.

You are not just there to pour. You are there to set the rhythm of the evening.

What the role entails

• Mix drinks, serve beer, wine, cava, shots, and alcohol-free alternatives
• Work with both craft cocktails and high-volume service when the house is full
• Participate in developing drinks, signature serves, and seasonal ideas
• Provide guests with energy, security, and service behind the bar
• Keep the bar clean, stylish, fast, and organized throughout the evening
• Manage mise en place, prep, garnishes, glassware, ice, and station
• Assist with stock, restocking, orders, and waste control
• Collaborate closely with service, kitchen, bar manager, and the rest of the team
• Help carry the night from the first drink to the last song

Who you are

• You have experience from bars, restaurants, clubs, hotels, or similar environments
• You enjoy people, tempo, music, and late nights
• You can mix drinks and want to get even better
• You are fast without being sloppy
• You stay organized even under high pressure
• You are social, confident, and warm behind the bar
• You enjoy both craftsmanship and high volume
• You are a team player who helps out where needed
• You want to be part of shaping something new from the start

Experience with cocktails is a plus. Experience with high tempo is equally important. If you have a feel for Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired drinks, that is an extra bonus, but most importantly, you need the right energy, sense of responsibility, and desire to help build a truly strong bar.
