Description
At Social Services and Employment (SoA) in Arvika, there is great commitment, a solution-oriented approach, openness to new ideas, combined with close leadership involving twelve managers. As part of our work on working environment and the principle of close leadership, SoA has further developed and established two departments; Children and Young People, and Adults. On the Children and Young People department, there are units including Children and Family, Young Adults and Intensive Interventions, Family Law and Foster Care, Early and Preventive Support, and AMI Young.
We are now looking for a substitute Social Secretary for the Family Law and Foster Care Unit. The unit is new, formed by merging two previous groups. We apply mentorship, and you will be assigned a mentor upon employment. You will work closely with colleagues and the decision-making manager, and the work is characterized by openness and community. We work from a conscious children's rights perspective and use BBIC as a case management and documentation system. We work in the Lifecare database system. We regularly attend new training courses and have both internal and external supervision.
Responsibilities
As the unit is new, there is ongoing work to determine how to distribute the tasks currently assigned to positions to achieve a cohesive care chain from the recruitment of service providers to the follow-up of care.
The work involves following up on the care of children and young people placed in foster homes. Collaboration with other actors such as schools and healthcare is included. The work involves supporting and supervising foster homes, network homes, and other service providers. It also includes follow-up of other interventions that placed children may have, such as needs-based personal support, contact family/contact person. The work includes handling investigations and reports concerning placed children. The position involves travel as some of our placements are outside the county.
The work involves some documentation, so it is an advantage if you enjoy and are comfortable doing this. The work may also involve being on call for 3–4 weeks per year together with another social secretary and manager.
Qualifications
You must have a degree in Social Work. Experience in authority exercises and work within social services is meritorious. It is also beneficial if you have experience working with BBIC. As we have a broad and experienced work group with much competence in the area of children and young people, it does not matter if you are old, young, new, or experienced. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
