Do you want to work on something that truly matters? We offer you the forest – one of our most important tools for tackling challenges related to climate change and future raw material supply. Plus, a beautiful workplace. To counter the threats posed by climate change and to support biodiversity, we need forest land and forest raw materials. Sveaskog is the state-owned forestry company, and our task is to deliver forest raw materials and manage forest land. To achieve this in a long-term sustainable way, Sveaskog has adopted a sustainable forestry program. Now we need more interested and competent people who want to be part of this journey. Could you be the one we are looking for?
We are now looking for a machine operator for the Älvsbyn production area in Norrbotten
As a forest machinery operator, you work towards goals regarding quality, monitoring, production, environment, and nature conservation. You are an important part of a whole chain where high demands are placed on precision and responsibility. At Sveaskog, we see all our roles as equally important in the chain, and we strive to make each other better.
You will belong to an autonomous work team consisting of four machine operators who work in shifts, with a main focus on clear-felling, although thinning may also occur. The position includes areas of responsibility that can be adapted to some extent to your skills and strengths. You will have local contact with production managers, contractors, and others.
The work area is primarily Älvsbyn, but variations occur, and you report to the subcontractor for our own teams.
About you
We are looking for someone who enjoys their work and has a genuine interest in the forest, machinery, service, and maintenance. We value if you are a flexible person willing to operate both harvesters and forwarders. You are not afraid to use IT equipment and see administration as part of your work. You are interested in and take great responsibility for the different values of the forest, such as production, management, and nature conservation.
You have a secondary education in forestry or equivalent acquired knowledge. A large part of the work is digital, so knowledge of working in IT systems is an important part of the job. A Category B driver's license is required.
We offer
- A flexible workplace where you can create a good balance between work and private life.
- A sustainable working life with a focus on well-being, inclusion, and long-term satisfaction.
- A culture that welcomes different perspectives and where you can be yourself.
- Good opportunities for internal growth and access to continuous competence development.
Working at Sveaskog means becoming part of a business where everyone contributes to something bigger. Here, we encourage curiosity, courage, and active engagement – both in your own role and in the development of the business. Regardless of background or experience, you are important to the whole, and together we create a work environment where we help each other succeed. We call this active employee participation.
