The Municipal Executive Office serves as the administration for the Municipal Board and the Municipal Council. It also serves as the administration for the Integration and Labour Market Committee, as well as the Water and Environment Committee.

We work with a holistic perspective, close to political leadership, with the goal of providing the best possible support and service to Kalmar Municipality's political organization, companies, departments, and the general public. The Municipal Executive Office consists of over 300 employees across 14 different operations. The office works within a broad spectrum of areas, and the administration has several positions requiring specialist competence. Additionally, the administration actively works on safety issues, association life, and civil society. We are an administration in constant development – all to make Kalmar just a little bit better. DUTIES

Youth Jobs is an initiative within Kalmar Municipality designed to facilitate young people's entry into the working life.

As an employee at Kalmar Municipality, you may encounter various tasks in several areas, such as:

  • Grounds maintenance/Janitorial services
  • Care and elderly care
  • Childcare
  • Kitchen work
  • Building cleaning

Regardless of the workplace, service and customer interaction are important parts of the role, so it is important that you are here to do a good job!

During the employment period, there will also be theoretical components, such as personal development and study and career guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS

You can apply if you:

  • are registered as a resident in Kalmar Municipality
  • graduated from upper secondary school in 2025 or 2026

or

  • are covered by the municipal activity responsibility

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

  • Salary type: Monthly salary.
  • Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
  • Duration: 3–6 months, start date: 2026-09-01, end date: 2026-12-31.
  • Working hours: Daytime.
