Assistant Nurse at Geriatric Centre, Region Västerbotten

The Geriatric Centre is a specialist clinic for patients requiring both acute and planned geriatric care and rehabilitation. Interprofessional teams conduct comprehensive assessments of elderly patients' medical, physical, mental, and social functioning during illness. Diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation are provided in both inpatient and outpatient care, focusing on the patient's individual needs.

General Geriatrics, Ward 1, has 20 care beds focusing on subacute general geriatric care and rehabilitation, as well as a so-called "fast track" for taking over patients from MAVA and the Infectious Diseases Clinic. We are looking for a couple of assistant nurses to join us at the General Geriatric Ward – apply and help us complete our team!

We are very proud to run a Student Teaching Ward (SUA) where nursing and assistant nursing students care for patients independently under supervision.

We are now looking for an assistant nurse for a permanent position. Are you the one we are looking for?

You will work according to a schedule covering days, evenings, and weekends. Start date is negotiable.

As an assistant nurse, you perform assistant nursing duties on the ward, such as monitoring vital signs, wound care, blood sampling, etc. Supervising students is also part of the job.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with the elderly and puts the patient first. You have a good manner and adapt your care to the patient's different needs throughout the care process. You take initiative, are easy to work with, and are curious about new challenges. You feel responsible and thrive in an environment with varied tasks and varying intensity.

You work in a team and independently, where teamwork, initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail are qualities we value.

You have an assistant nurse education and have passed a course in emergency care. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Experience in supervising students is an advantage.

As of July 1, 2023, "assistant nurse" is a protected professional title. This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to use the title assistant nurse within care and social services. You apply for the certificate of protected professional title for assistant nurses from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have already received this certificate, we request that you attach it to your application.
