We are looking for two versatile, expressive dancers with experience in partnering and lifts, and a solid foundation in both classical ballet and modern dance. A male-identifying and a female-identifying artist will form a duo to illustrate several danced sequences throughout the piece.

A willingness to explore, play, and create movement material during rehearsals, as well as good endurance and strong physical/athletic capacity, will be important for our process. Virtuosity takes many forms, and we encourage dancers to bring their unique vitality. Pointe work is desired but not mandatory; however, strength, precision/discipline, intensity, perseverance, and a courageous, powerful stage presence are fundamental prerequisites.

The dancers will portray young adults around the age of 18, but applicants can be up to 35 years old provided they meet the aforementioned criteria. It is important to note that this musical deals with very sensitive content regarding intimate partner violence and will include clear, albeit stylized, depictions of violence on stage. For those with strong triggers regarding such expressions, we urge you to ensure you have support and readiness to explore this together with the production and your potential dance partner.

WHERE AND WHEN:

The audition will take place at Bageriet, Näbbgatan 9 in Karlstad on August 30–31, 2026.

August 31 is the callback day. A singing test will also take place, where applicants will sing a song of their choice accompanied by piano.

To be considered, you must be able to attend the audition on both days.

On August 14, after an initial screening, invitations will be sent to those we wish to see at the audition. If you do not receive an invitation, you are not considered for this musical. We reserve the right to select the applicants.
