What you will be working with
We are recruiting a nurse for a permanent position within the Specialist Psychiatric Nursing Team (SPOT) in Piteå.
The purpose of SPOT (Specialist Psychiatric Nursing Team) is to provide more individualized nursing interventions in the home setting as an outpatient service, rather than in inpatient care. The goal is to reduce the need for inpatient stays, avoid hospitalization where possible, and strengthen care where standard psychiatric outpatient levels are deemed insufficient.
The care provided is person-centered and adapted to the individual patient's needs, abilities, and well-being. The target group for SPOT includes patients aged 18 and over within the catchment area of Piteå General Psychiatry. Duties within the SPOT team may vary but can include motivational interviewing, behavioral observations, medication follow-ups, anxiety management, working in resource teams for patients with complex issues, and collaboration with neighboring healthcare providers and municipalities. SPOT works on behalf of physicians from inpatient or outpatient services.
SPOT is currently divided into two mobile teams with the following geographical areas:
Team 1: Piteå – Arvidsjaur – Arjeplog
Team 2: Piteå – Älvsbyn
SPOT staff also cover an assessment role daily, supporting neighboring healthcare providers with our expertise and assessing acutely deteriorating patients through joint visits with physicians.
