Guide at Mårbacka Memorial Farm – Summer Season 2026
MårbackastiftVärmlands län, Sunne
Previous experience is desired
Mårbacka Memorial Farm – Selma Lagerlöf's home – is now seeking a guide for the summer season 2026.
Every year, we welcome approximately 40,000 visitors to Mårbacka, where guests from near and far experience Selma Lagerlöf's home, stories, and settings through our guided tours.
As a guide with us, your most important task is to bring the story of Selma Lagerlöf and the place Mårbacka to life in an inspiring and personal way. Some tours also involve performance elements and are part of the job.
The role also includes working in our shop and at the entrance cash desk, handling our booking system, and cleaning duties. Experience with cash handling is therefore desirable.
We are looking for someone who:
- enjoys meeting people
- is responsible, flexible, positive, and service-oriented
- thrives in a work environment that is sometimes fast-paced
- is fluent in Swedish and English
- has an interest and knowledge of literature, history, and/or culture, and of course, Selma Lagerlöf's life and literary works
Mårbacka Memorial Farm is run by the Mårbacka Foundation and includes, in addition to the memorial farm, a café, shop, gardens, and exhibitions in the barn – all set in a unique cultural-historical environment.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
Employment period: mid-June to end of August 2026, approximately 75% full-time.
Interviews and hiring are conducted on a rolling basis, so do not delay your application.
Send your CV and cover letter to: [email protected]. Please include guide application in the subject line. Application deadline: June 5, 2026.
