Railcare is a railway company filled with energy, commitment, and agile employees. We operate in a traditional industry that is once again a future industry, as railways enable a sustainable and efficient mode of transport. Railcare contributes to this through, among other things, railway maintenance, freight, construction, and special transport, as well as the development and maintenance of locomotives and machinery.

We are growing and need to hire more mechanics/vehicle technicians in Långsele. We are therefore looking for customer-focused employees who want to develop and work together with motivated and competent colleagues.

Your Responsibilities

In your role as a mechanic/vehicle technician, you are a central part of our team and one of our most valuable resources. Our customers expect not only professional service but also a high degree of accuracy and expertise. Your main tasks will be to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel locomotives in a flexible manner. This includes systematically troubleshooting, performing repairs, and carrying out modernizations when necessary. This can range from filter and oil changes to troubleshooting and component replacements.

You will also be given the opportunity to work within our second business area, where we work on various projects such as engine installations, upgrading subsystems like hydraulics and pneumatics, or component revisions, which will give you broader work experience and the opportunity to develop your skills in different areas.

You will be responsible for leading and driving your tasks forward, ensuring they are completed within the specified timeframes, and that our customers' expectations are not only met but preferably exceeded. It is of utmost importance that you deliver high-quality work and always provide our customers with a professional and accommodating service.

Your Profile

We are looking for candidates with a vehicle technical education or equivalent experience in the field. As a person, you are service-oriented, flexible, and self-reliant. You have the ability to perform tasks with precision and a high standard of safety, and you thrive in both a fast-paced environment and in collaboration with your colleagues. We also expect you to be able and willing to contribute to improving routines and working methods in our workshop; being initiative-driven and unpretentious is essential, while engagement and an open mind are taken for granted.

We consider it an asset if you have one or more of the following qualifications:

• Knowledge of vehicle electronics or industrial electronics
• Familiarity with hydraulics or pneumatics
• Skills in reading technical drawings

The work may involve assignments both in the field and at other locations, which requires that you have at least a B-class driver's license and can pass health examinations according to current requirements for vehicle technicians in the railway sector.

Work is typically scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday, 07:00-16:00, at our workshop in Långsele.

The position is permanent and full-time. Fixed monthly salary according to agreement.
