The Forensic Psychiatry Clinic in Säter (RPK) provides highly specialized forensic psychiatric care at both regional and national levels. There are currently 78 care places across seven wards staffed by experienced nurses and care assistants. The patient group primarily suffers from psychosis and neuropsychiatric disabilities, often with concurrent harmful substance use or addiction. The treatment work is varied, with the aim of creating conditions for patients' reintegration into society.
ResponsibilitiesYou will lead the Team for Treatment and Operational Follow-up, bearing operational responsibility for 17 employees, including personnel management, as well as responsibility for the working environment and finances. You report directly to the clinic manager and sit on the clinic's management group for strategic, clinic-wide work. The management group includes a total of 8 unit managers responsible for the SSK organization, care wards, security and administration, as well as the patient safety coordinator, chief physician, and clinic manager. This recruitment replaces a current unit manager.
The Team for Treatment and Operational Follow-up works with long-term treatment contacts for patients sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The working group currently consists of psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, rehabilitation assistants, addiction counselors, a patient safety coordinator (SSK), and a unit manager (licensed psychologist & licensed psychotherapist). The team works in close collaboration with medical teams and ward staff; the goal is to build skills in patients for a functioning life in freedom. The team is driven and collaborative, and you will be introduced to the forensic psychiatric environment by open and supportive colleagues. Several of us have moved to the region for the work. The team's activities vary from ongoing risk and needs assessments to therapeutic, practical, and psychosocial interventions, as well as staff supervision.
RPK Säter is currently in a development phase with a focus on care processes and more active care and treatment interventions on the clinic's wards. The development aims for a more structured care process with increased participation, methodological breadth, and targeted quality follow-up. As a unit manager, you are expected to take a leading position in this process and in developing the treatment work according to the patient group's complex needs. Opportunities also exist within Region Dalarna for education and clinic-based research.
