Umeå Public Library is part of Culture in Umeå Municipality and consists of the city library, ten neighborhood libraries, and a library bus. Umeå City Library is located on three floors in Väven, a building designed for cross-sectoral collaboration. At the city library, the units Väven Lär (Väven Learn) and Väven Läs (Väven Read) work closely together. The library is part of the Umeå Region Library Cooperation, sharing a common media collection, lending system, and the website minabibliotek.se.

We are currently seeking a temporary Library Assistant for the Väven Lär unit at Umeå City Library!

Your Responsibilities

In this role as a Library Assistant, you will work with invoice processing and other administrative tasks. You will also work in the public areas of the library, for example with book shelving, patron guidance, and other tasks common in library operations. If you have specific language skills, such as in a national minority language, or other special competencies, these may be of great value within the library operations.

About You

We are looking for someone with an upper secondary education in economics or administration. You have good IT skills, are fluent in Swedish (spoken and written), and have good English language skills. Experience with invoice processing and working in a library is an asset.

You have a very good ability to work independently and in a structured manner, while collaboration and dialogue with colleagues and the municipality's finance department are important parts of the work. You have an inclusive approach and the ability to create positive interactions. You enjoy working externally with a focus on a high level of service for people of all ages. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Other Information

The position is a temporary assignment from 2026-05-25 to 2027-03-31, with a possibility of extension. Day, evening, and weekend shifts are included.
