Job Information
Professionals Nord, in collaboration with Vattenfall, is seeking a forestry technician for the forest & land business area. The assignment is part of our staffing services where you will be employed by Professionals Nord and work as a consultant at Vattenfall for 6 months, with the intention of being directly employed by Vattenfall for a long-term position thereafter.
The position is located in Västerbotten, for example, Umeå, Skellefteå, or in the inland of Västerbotten. The position involves both travel and overnight stays due to the large geographical area.
Vattenfall forest & land works with consulting and contracting services in forest maintenance, land access, environmental and permit issues, GIS, as well as measurement and setting out. The team contributes to ensuring the operation and development of energy infrastructure – a crucial part of the energy transition.
Job Responsibilities
As a forestry technician, you will primarily work with field maintenance to ensure energy supply in the form of forest maintenance. The role combines practical fieldwork with coordination and responsibility for project elements. Your tasks include performing annual maintenance such as conventional clearing or using a clearing robot. You will access the forest via snowmobiles, ATVs, tracked vehicles, or similar vehicles to ensure that the work can be carried out. Your main tasks include:
- performing forest maintenance such as clearing and working with a clearing robot
- inspecting maintenance
- marking forest
- tree felling
- coordinating and sometimes assisting in project managing subcontractors on site
You will work closely with colleagues with different competencies and have great opportunities to plan and structure your own workday.
We are looking for someone who
To succeed in this role, you have a genuine interest in forestry issues and enjoy practical and independent work. If you have a forestry education or experience from similar tasks, we consider this a strong merit. We believe you are proactive, responsible, and enjoy a role where you can combine fieldwork with planning and collaboration. Meritorious but not required for the role are:
- Experience from forestry or power line industry
- Experience from contracting operations
- Knowledge of property law or case management systems
- Chainsaw license (ABCD)
- Driving license for snowmobiles and ATVs
Requirements for the position include a B driver's license, experience in administrative work (computer skills), good knowledge of Swedish and English, and the ability to travel and stay overnight for work.
