The Culture and Leisure Administration is responsible for tasks in the areas of culture and leisure in Karlskoga. We offer activities such as youth centers, swimming pools, cultural schools, art halls, and libraries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Karlskoga Library consists of 18 employees, of which 15 work at the library. We are now looking for 1-2 substitutes for full-time or part-time work.

You will be part of the work to develop our reading and democracy-promoting activities. You will be involved in the program we call Room for Youth, aimed at children and young people aged 11 and up. There are quiet places for reading and conversation, access to analog and digital games, and creative activities in various forms. You will also participate in program activities and may collaborate with other actors.

As a librarian, you will work with:

  • Reading and democracy-promoting work for all ages.
  • Work on various projects and networks both within the municipality and with external partners.
  • Serving in the library's information.
  • Meeting and guiding the library's visitors.

Working hours vary between 7:30 AM and 6:15 PM on weekdays. Work on Saturdays a few times per semester.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a qualified librarian with a degree in library and information science or has other education that the employer deems equivalent.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working with children and youth.
  • Experience in service and reception.
  • Multilingualism (beyond Swedish and English).

OTHER

Karlskoga Municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area and thus has a responsibility to promote the status of the Finnish language. This means, among other things, that we should offer preschool activities and elderly care in Finnish.
