Vacancy for Sludge Truck Operator at SERWENT in Gävle
SERWENT is a leading local contractor in water and sewage services. With around 200 dedicated employees and a turnover of approximately 350 million SEK, we operate in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Västerås, Uppsala, and Gävle. The demand for our services continues to grow, and we are now looking for more competent colleagues who want to join us on our continued journey.
We are currently recruiting a sludge truck operator for our operations in Gävle. With us, you will be part of a company where the values of reliability, courage, and care are a natural part of everyday life.
Today, an engaged team of about a dozen operators works here. We carry out assignments in sludge emptying, ADR, drain cleaning, pipe inspection, investigations, and on-call services. Our operators usually work within their own segment, but we help each other when needed.
About the position
As a sludge truck operator, you will be responsible for emptying sludge facilities for both private and municipal customers throughout Gästrikland. You will be part of a wonderful team of 4 operators in the field. The sludge collected is transported and delivered to a facility in Sandviken. You have the opportunity to set some of your working hours yourself.
The role involves a lot of freedom under responsibility. You:
- plan your workdays and driving distances efficiently
- are responsible for your vehicle's maintenance and your equipment
- work with the support of digital route planning via a tablet
You will always have colleagues and management close at hand when needed.
The work may involve taking breaks and lunches where the assignment is currently being performed, which requires good self-planning.
You may also assist with other tasks beyond sludge driving. The sludge season runs from March to December. During the low season, January-February, you will often work with other tasks within the organization.
More about you and what we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is responsible, service-oriented, and enjoys independent work. You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to think logistically. You have good driving experience and find it easy to meet customers in a professional manner. You communicate clearly and are involved in the improvement work together with your team and immediate supervisor.
We also see it as an advantage if you have ADR certification or other experience related to combination vehicle driving, water and sewage, drain cleaning, property maintenance, on-call work, or similar.
We require that you have:
- CE driving license
- Valid YKB
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
The work includes physical tasks, so experience with physical work and good physical condition is an advantage.
As a person, you are stress-resistant, take initiative, and plan your driving with a focus on both traffic safety and the environment.
What we offer you
- Secure employment with a collective agreement.
- Opportunities for professional development through internal and external training
- Varied workdays and assignments
- A workplace with a strong sense of community – shared breakfast and social activities
- Health benefits and a focus on health and well-being
Additional information
The position is a permanent employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period. Individual salary setting applies, and alcohol and drug tests are conducted upon hiring.
Selection is ongoing, and positions may be filled before the application deadline – therefore, please submit your application today!
