The Church of Sweden is looking for a Mechanic/Operator for the Cemetery Administration

The Cemetery Administration in the Helsingborg parish is responsible for the operation of eight cemeteries covering a total area of 40 hectares within Helsingborg's three city parishes. We are approximately 80 employees in the cemetery administration, and we are now looking for a mechanic/operator for a permanent position.

About the role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and trained mechanic in hydraulics, welding, and other workshop tasks such as servicing small machines like lawnmowers and other equipment commonly found in a cemetery. This also applies to vehicles such as cars, loaders, tractors, and small electric vehicles. The position also includes operation and maintenance work of water facilities in the cemeteries. In this varied role, you will work both with repairs in our workshop and with other tasks out in our cemeteries.

If you have an interest in or previous experience as an operator, this is an advantage as the position involves flexibility to assist our excavators and landscapers when needed.

Your daily tasks will range from simple service and maintenance to more advanced repairs and troubleshooting on various types of machines, as well as excavations and various earthworks.

Your profile

Here’s what you need to succeed and thrive in the role:

• A vehicle engineering education and/or practical experience working with heavy vehicles that the employer considers equivalent.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, welding, and other workshop tasks such as servicing small machines.
• Computer skills.
• Manual driving license.
• Driving license, BE.
• It is also important that you can communicate well in Swedish and that you have a good command of English.

It is advantageous if you have previously operated an excavator/loader.

As a person, you are responsible with your own drive and an eye for what needs to be done. You will work alongside another mechanic who also serves as the workshop foreman. We want you to develop and grow with us, and therefore we offer both internal and external training to always be updated on the latest technology. You will become an important part of our team, and we can offer you a varied job where tasks are planned based on daily events.

The position means that you will work at all cemeteries in the Helsingborg Cemetery Administration, and you will be based in Pålsjö where the workshop is located.
