Do you want to contribute to the development of palliative care while driving future research for people with life-threatening illnesses? We are expanding our team and are looking for an experienced research nurse for the Palliative Development Center. The position involves a central role in strengthening the conditions for research, development, and education within palliative care in Skåne.

The Mobile Teams and specialized palliative care area is divided into five geographical operational areas and the Palliative Development Center. Here, specialized palliative care and advanced home care are provided, as well as care through our mobile primary care teams throughout Skåne. The Palliative Development Center is part of Region Skåne, with Lund University as a partner. Researchers work together with, for example, operational developers and statisticians to drive research, development, and education in both general and specialized palliative care.

Our goal is for people with life-threatening illnesses to receive care of the highest quality, and for research in the field to be nationally and internationally recognized. All work at the Palliative Development Center is characterized by curiosity and the strong focus on teamwork and respect for each other's competencies inherent in palliative care. We offer training, courses, and seminars and drive various research and development efforts to promote good palliative care for all.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The assignment as a research nurse aims to strengthen the conditions for clinical research at the Palliative Development Center and to collaborate with colleagues in the clinical operation to promote the conditions for the inclusion of research participants. The work takes place in a research-intensive environment with research collaborations regionally, nationally, and internationally and includes both strategic and operational tasks.

As the role is new, you will be involved in establishing long-term sustainable conditions for research in palliative care in Skåne. The tasks include, in close collaboration with the responsible researcher, initiating, coordinating, and driving research projects throughout the research process. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with protocols and documentation according to applicable regulations.

You collaborate with internal and external research partners and participate in monitoring and other quality controls. At the unit, we work to ensure compliance with laws, guidelines, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). You work independently but in close collaboration with other employees and report directly to the head of operations.

The position is located at Medicon Village in Lund. Travel may occur in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare
  • has several years of professional experience as a nurse
  • has experience working as a research nurse
  • has completed training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • has excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • has very good administrative and digital skills, with the ability to work seamlessly in commonly used IT systems and research-related tools

Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have experience working in palliative care and cancer care as well as experience with clinical trials with various study designs.

We are looking for someone who plans, organizes, and prioritizes their work effectively. You are meticulous, quality-conscious, and take responsibility for driving tasks and processes forward on your own initiative. The role requires very good collaboration and communication skills. You are confident in your professional role, work independently, and at the same time find it easy to collaborate with others. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

This includes, among other things, mobile teams and specialized palliative care, outpatient care within close care, acute care within close care, 1177 by phone, and certain region-wide functions. In addition, the administration is responsible for the development and follow-up of the transition to close care in Region Skåne. The number of employees is expected to be around 1,000.
