JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work as an arrest guard involves handling and meeting individuals who have been deprived of their freedom for various reasons. Many are deprived of liberty for the purpose of investigating crimes, but it can also involve shorter detentions due to intoxication. The arrest guard is the person the detainee has the closest contact with during their time as a detainee in the arrest facility, and the work is conducted under the leadership of a station commander. The work thus involves reception, processing, surveillance, and supervision. The assignment also includes administrative tasks, examples of which are documentation regarding the detention, DNA sampling, biometric data collection, urine sampling, and database searches. You will also work with taking police reports and perform various investigative measures, such as conducting simple interrogations regarding the section's cases.

The pace of work varies over time and depends on how many are detained in the arrest. You will also participate in transports to detention hearings and monitoring assignments at, for example, hospitals. Your approach has a significant impact on the detainee's experience of the police, which is crucial for the ongoing investigation.
