About the assignment

We are looking for a technical expert in BEST (Track, Electrical, Signal, Telecom) for one of the most exciting and future-oriented projects in Stockholm's public transport – Future Traffic Control System for the subway.

Region Stockholm is responsible for creating a sustainable, reliable, and accessible public transport system for over 700,000 daily commuters. Within the Traffic Administration, a long-term investment project is currently underway to replace the existing traffic control system of the subway to meet future needs for operational reliability and efficiency.

As a technical expert in BEST, you will play a key role in the project and be an important part of the team ensuring that the technical solution maintains high quality, meets requirements, and contributes to sustainable development of public transport.

Your main responsibilities

• Support project management in ensuring that the project meets all technical requirements and processes within the BEST area.
• Contribute to the development of system design and technical choices for future traffic control solutions.
• Review documentation, participate in testing, validation, and verification of technical deliveries.
• Identify technical challenges and contribute to solutions in consultation with the project manager.
• Lead and be responsible for technical investigations related to requirements, laws, and regulations.
• Support the process around authority approval of the facility.

We are looking for you who

• Have several years of experience working within BEST (Track, Electrical, Signal, Telecom), preferably in larger infrastructure or railway projects.
• Have a very good understanding of system design, technical requirements, and quality assurance.
• Are used to working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in complex environments.
• Are structured, communicative, and confident in providing technical support to project management.
• Have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Location: Kungsholmen, Stockholm (combined office and remote work)

Security classification: SK4 – the assignment is subject to security protection agreements
