Restaurant Manager – Slottsrestaurangen at Nyköpingshus
We are looking for someone who wants to take operational responsibility for the dining room and daily operations – becoming the third cog between the head chef (menus) and the Event Manager (sales/planning). Your task is to make everything happen in the restaurant: staffing, schedules, service, quality, and guest flow. You are present on the floor, leading the team in service and ensuring that every detail is perfect, from table setting to the last cup of coffee. Everything takes place in one of Sweden's most atmospheric environments – vaults, courtyards, and historic halls where hospitality truly shines.
In addition to operational management, you will work with the Event Manager to handle ongoing administration: email and phone, booking and menu inquiries, as well as seasonal catering requests (especially during the summer). You prioritize incoming matters, provide quick feedback, and translate requests into staffing, schedules, and clear instructions.
About the role You plan shifts and set staffing, introduce and coach staff, follow up on guest satisfaction and key performance indicators, and ensure that routines for service, hygiene, and work environment are followed. For weddings and corporate events, you manage the execution on-site: translating plans and menus into frictionless service, coordinating with the kitchen and events, and handling ongoing changes without losing your calm. When the pace is high, you step into service yourself; when it is quieter, you develop work methods, operations, and the team. You use the castle environment as part of the experience – from how guests are welcomed in the archway to how service flows in the castle's halls.
Who you are You have experience in the restaurant industry and a clear interest in leadership in operations. You may be on your way to the next step or already comfortable in a similar role. The most important thing is your passion for hospitality and your willingness to take responsibility. You are structured, communicative, and unpretentious, enjoy variety, and find energy in creating experiences together with others. You have good administrative skills, work systematically in email/calendar and booking systems, and communicate professionally in writing and over the phone. You are already knowledgeable about beverages; sommelier training is a plus. A driver's license is required.
Why with us Here you can influence the whole in a unique historical environment where the rooms themselves raise the standard of every service. We work closely together with short decision-making paths: the kitchen sets the menus, events sell and plan – you execute in the dining room at world-class level. You lead hospitality in venues that add extra weight to weddings, anniversaries, and corporate dinners, where your intuition makes a significant difference.
Conditions Full-time, permanent after probation. Varying working hours including weekends. Collective agreement via Fora with occupational pension and insurance. Location Nyköping, workplace Nyköpingshus.
We are interviewing continuously, so apply today!
The recruitment is conducted in collaboration with Tillväxt Nyköping (https://tillvaxtnykoping.se/om-oss/).
