Tire Installer at Costco

Previous experience is desired
Drives car into fitting tyre area. Balances, installs and rotates tyres. Assists members with queries and helps members with purchasing/returning tires and batteries. Brings cars back to Costco car park while upholding security procedures.
- Greets members, locates car in parking area and performs a car check listing any previous damages.
- Drives member vehicle into install bay, onto hydraulic hoist and sets brake. Raises car.
- Removes wheel using impact gun. Rolls wheel to mounting machine, removes tire from wheel. Cleans hub and wheel rim with wire brush. Attaches new valve stem, mounts new tire on wheel, fills tire to appropriate air pressure.
- Operates automatic balance machine to determine proper weight and placement to balance wheel. Attaches lead weights to rims with lead weight hammer.
- Re-attaches wheels to vehicles using impact gun and hand torque wrench according to Tyre Shop procedures.
- Alerts supervisor or manager to complete 9-point check and authorizes vehicle release.
- Parks member’s car in car park and returns keys to sale desk.
- Performs second torque check after manager or supervisor on tyres installed by others.
- Clears install area by sweeping, mopping, spraying and wiping.
- Assists with sales and stocks tyres in sales area in accordance with Tyre Shop Manager’s merchandising plan.
