Flute Teacher for Ung Kultur

Täby Cultural School consists of the municipal provider Ung Kultur and four private music schools, offering education for children and young people aged 7-20 in the subjects of art, music, and theater. For us, culture is important and something we believe contributes to personal development and creativity, which together create a better future society. The cultural school is part of culture and leisure in Täby Municipality.

Every week, about 1800 children and young people come to the cultural school. Our goal is to create positive and creative meetings where the guiding star is inclusion, ultimately based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child. We strive for all our participants to develop according to their own conditions and aim for high artistic quality.

We offer a creative workplace with opportunities for personal development and influence. Continuous development work is ongoing, which necessitates creative thinking and an open mindset to try new working methods.

We are now looking for a flute teacher for Ung Kultur who wants to be part of the continued development of the organization. We place great emphasis on playing and making music together, and during part of the lesson, all groups that play in parallel meet in what we call the Music Lab.

Responsibilities:

• Group teaching where all lessons are between 60 and 90 minutes long.
• Take responsibility for your student groups and work towards good contacts with students and their guardians.
• In consultation with the manager, be responsible for scheduling and following up on the schedule as well as the administration needed for the organization.
• Actively participate in meetings and training and work towards good relationships internally and externally, contributing to a good working environment.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant music pedagogical university education with flute as the main subject or equivalent competence acquired in another way.
• Broad artistic competence and the ability to teach flute and recorder.
• Experience in group music teaching.
• Experience working in a cultural school or equivalent organization.
• Experience teaching younger children, for example, in wind instruments.

We think it is good if you have:

• Genre breadth in jazz, pop, folk music, and classical.
• Competence in some accompanying instrument (piano, drums, bass, guitar).
• Experience leading larger ensembles.
• Experience arranging music.

Furthermore, we are looking for an inspirer who gives our students the opportunity to develop according to their own conditions. You have a positive view of the students and are outgoing as well as clear in your leadership. You are driven and enjoy working towards new goals.

The working method at Ung Kultur means that music teachers work closely together, for example, in planning the joint music labs. Therefore, we place great importance on good collaboration skills in addition to personal suitability and pedagogical competence.
