Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a new property manager for the property management unit at the city properties department, focusing on preschools. The property management unit is responsible for the management and development of Malmö city's properties for schools, childcare, elderly care, social services, offices, and cultural and recreational facilities. The unit's mission is to provide suitable premises and outdoor environments while maintaining the functional values of the properties. The unit employs approximately 80 staff members, divided into 5 sections managing around 600 properties. The intended position is part of the Preschool section that manages preschools.

As a property manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing the operation and maintenance of the outdoor environment to ensure the functionality of the properties is upheld. Through your budget and in collaboration with users and contractors, you will plan upcoming maintenance measures. Your tasks also include providing advisory support regarding outdoor environment issues to tenants in new construction and renovation projects. In the role of property manager, you will represent the property management at meetings with operations, internal meetings, and forums related to outdoor environments within Malmö city. You will participate in jointly developing the management of outdoor environments at city properties with other property managers and enhancing the property portfolio regarding long-term sustainable outdoor environments.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree, such as landscape engineer, or other education in the operation and maintenance of outdoor environments or landscape construction deemed equivalent. You should also have at least 2 years of work experience as a property manager or in a similar role. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required for the position, as well as a B driver's license. Experience with LOU and reviewing drawings and construction documents is considered an asset. It is also advantageous if you have worked as a contractor in the industry. Given that schoolyards are outdoor environments with significant challenges for vegetation and sustainability, experience with plant knowledge, the establishment of planting beds, and biodiversity is also beneficial, as we continuously work on improvements in existing environments.

A job as a property manager with us involves many contacts, both internally and externally, which requires good communication skills and the ability to build relationships. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy collaborating while being self-driven and taking responsibility for your tasks. To succeed in the role, we see that you work efficiently and have a good ability to plan your work and identify the resources required. It is important that you are solution-focused and take the initiative for development and improvements in your work. You understand the importance of working in a goal-oriented organization influenced by political decisions and objectives.
