We are now looking for a chef with a great interest in cooking who wants to further develop with us at our three summer camps in Värmland. It is advantageous if you have training in cooking, but it is not a requirement as we primarily value your interest in cooking, relevant work experience, and your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment in close collaboration with your colleagues. We believe you are a natural leader in the kitchen and dining room, used to taking initiative and working in a structured manner, and you enjoy an environment where children and young people make up the majority of our guests.

Working at the summer camp means that during the summer you will live at your workplace, at the summer camp in Värmland. You will share accommodation with your colleagues while you work, about 5-6 people per room. The job requires that you can be away from home for at least 6 weeks during the summer.

About the company

Utepedagogik Sverige AB conducts summer camp activities at several summer camps for children and young people aged 9-16, focusing on adventure and our activities are aimed at outdoor educational work. Job Responsibilities

As a chef at the summer camp, your main task is to deliver meals to camp participants and camp leaders, which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including vegetarian and special diets. It is advantageous if you have previous experience working in a large kitchen and are used to planning meals, but we primarily value an interest in cooking and the willingness to develop the operation together with your colleagues.

The kitchen at the summer camp is the heart of our operation, and as an employee in the kitchen, your tasks will vary between cooking, serving, and dishwashing. Together with a team of 6-7 people, you will be responsible for delivering breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our communal dining room to camp participants and camp leaders at our three summer camps. Additionally, you will also receive deliveries, ensure that the summer camps have snacks and evening meals, and prepare food for hikes/outings.

The work is done under the guidance of a kitchen manager. You should also adhere to quality and hygiene requirements and be able to meet camp participants in a pedagogical and inspiring way as we want participants to discover the different aspects of cooking and possibly spark an understanding and future interest.

Experience

· Experience in large kitchens or equivalent

· Relevant training in cooking

Employment conditions

The position is a full-time job. You must be able to attend our training days on-site at the summer camp in Värmland from May 9 - May 12, and June 8 - June 12. During the summer, you need to be able to work and thus be away from home for at least six weeks during the period from June 13 to August 18.
