The Sollentuna operational area includes Sollentuna remand center and the Jakobsberg remand annex. Approximately 200 employees and 15 managers manage, lead, and develop an operation that receives about 320 detainees. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but administrative staff, nurses, and duty officers also work here. For the detainees, there are opportunities for engagement in practical work training, studies, and other structured activities. Sollentuna remand center is a workplace at the center of events. Not only because we are just a 15-minute train ride from Stockholm but also because, as one of the country's larger secure remand centers, no two days are ever the same.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Correctional Services provides some open health and medical care, which means that all prisons and remand centers have medical clinics where detainees can seek care. As a nurse, you assess minor ailments, but you also determine which applicants should see a doctor. This means you work with both somatic and psychiatric health and medical care for detainees, assist during medical consultations, and primarily administer medications through dose dispensing. Documentation is done in the PMO patient data journal.
Collaboration with other correctional staff is a natural and important part of the job. This includes training and mentoring client-facing staff in health and medical care issues such as suicide prevention, emergency care, and medication administration.
Working hours are daytime, Monday - Friday, with weekend work approximately every fifth weekend.
We will need full-time substitutes during the period from week 25 to week 33. We prefer that you can work the entire period, but even if you cannot work the whole period, it may still be of interest. There is also a good chance to work as a temporary employee both before and after the summer substitute period.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is reliable, secure, and stable in both your professional role and as a person. You have a high ability to collaborate and work well with others even in acute situations. You take responsibility and work independently but are also aware that you are part of a team. You can communicate in an advisory manner with non-medical staff categories. In your professional role, you make correct assessments and priorities and meet people in distress with calm and stability. You are structured and meticulous, even in administrative tasks such as record-keeping.
To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share Correctional Services' fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a licensed nurse
- Has at least 1 year of experience in the profession
- Speaks and writes good Swedish
Experience in the following is advantageous:
- Relevant further education or experience for the job, such as in psychiatry, emergency care, or outpatient care.
- Previously worked with incarcerated patients
The selection process for this recruitment will begin after the application period has ended.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
