About the position
The Cardiology Ward has a total of 26 beds, and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit HIA has 6 beds. Here, we collaborate on flows for Coronary Arteries, Valves, Arrhythmia (bradycardia and tachycardia), and Heart Failure. We also conduct active secondary preventive work, both during the hospital stay and in collaboration with the Heart Clinic after discharge, to ensure optimal care for the patient as well as assistance with lifestyle changes. The length of stay is short, about 2-3 days.
We also serve as the receiving department for acute ST-elevation myocardial infarctions that need to undergo coronary angiography and PCI during on-call hours and weekends. We have close cooperation with Norrtälje Hospital, Visby Hospital, and Region Sörmland.
As a nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to utilize all your knowledge and skills while gaining new experience. The department treats patients with acute coronary syndromes such as heart attacks and unstable angina, as well as serious arrhythmias and acute heart failure. You will develop good skills in ECG interpretation for both arrhythmia and infarct patients. Here, you will also learn to manage critically ill patients who require highly specialized care.
The position involves work during day/evening/night shifts as well as weekend duties, working two out of five weekends.

- finds cardiology appealing and wants to develop in the field

- has good communication skills, as effective communication with both colleagues and patients is crucial
- understands and shares our view that our team is our most important resource, thus we expect you to have good collaboration skills and prioritize the team over individual interests
- has the ability to see the big picture and adjust your actions to contribute to optimal patient care
- is structured and works efficiently to plan and implement care interventions with a focus on quality and patient safety.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare
Meritorious:
- Experience in acute care and/or cardiology
