Do you want to work with milk production and research?

We are looking for an engaged and animal-loving person for our dairy cattle herd at Röbäcksdalens research farm, where you will have the opportunity to combine practical work with exciting research projects.

About the job

With us, you will be a key player in the daily operation of our herd, which consists of over 100 dairy cows. The work includes milking, feeding, supervising the animals both in the barn and in the pasture, cleaning and administration, as well as sampling and registrations. Additionally, you will participate in and support research projects conducted on the farm. The position is scheduled with weekend and on-call work.

Your background

We are looking for someone with practical experience and theoretical knowledge in milk production. You enjoy both independent work and collaboration and have good initiative and organizational skills. You are meticulous and responsible, and have a genuine desire to work with both researchers and interns. A B driver's license is required. It is an advantage if you have completed a seminar course, have experience in medication management, record-keeping, and tractor driving.

About us

Röbäcksdalens research farm is part of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Umeå. Here, both research and education in milk production are conducted, where we strive to create a high-quality environment for both animals and humans. In addition to milk production, we have an extensive crop production on 250 hectares, including grassland, cereals, and pasture.
