About the Job

Are you about to graduate or have recently completed your engineering degree and want to help shape the energy systems of the future? Do you want to work in a socially important industry where technology, innovation, and sustainability go hand in hand? Then our trainee program at Gävle Energi is for you!

During our 10-month trainee program, you will have a unique opportunity to develop within the energy sector by working on exciting projects, advanced technology, and innovative solutions. The program provides you with a solid understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities, as well as creating a stable foundation for your future career with us.

From day one, you will be employed on a permanent basis with a six-month probationary period. You will be offered a competitive and market-based salary and, of course, the same benefits as all other employees at Gävle Energi.

What do we offer you and what can you expect from the trainee program?

As a trainee at Gävle Energi, you will enter a highly relevant industry and gain unique insight into our socially important operations, where we ensure secure and sustainable energy for the future. We operate broadly in several areas such as combined heat and power, electricity grid infrastructure, district heating, fiber, and hydropower. You will be part of our ongoing initiatives and innovations, where we drive the development of future energy systems. Here, you will delve into how we produce district heating and electricity, develop smart energy solutions, and above all, contribute to societal benefits.

You will work both independently and in teams, have the opportunity to drive your own projects, and participate in development projects that shape the future of the energy sector.

Development through Rotations and Hands-on Projects

We want to give you a broad understanding of our operations. Through fixed rotations, you will have a unique chance to broaden your technical competence and understanding of the energy sector and explore different career paths within the company. You will work in various parts of the organization where you will test your technical skills in real projects, both by driving your own and participating in various ongoing development projects. You will also use your analytical and innovative abilities to contribute new knowledge as a newly graduated engineer.

Education and Mentorship

The trainee program begins with an introduction to Gävle Energi and the energy sector. Throughout the program, you will receive support from a mentor and supervisor who will assist you in your work. You will also have the opportunity to pursue further education and are encouraged to visit other companies and facilities.

Clear Home Base and Long-term Development

Your place of employment and manager will remain the same throughout the program, providing you with a secure base and close mentorship for your personal development.

Are You Our Trainee Engineer?

• To get the most out of the program, we see that you are either in the final stages of your engineering education or have a maximum of two years of qualified work experience after graduation.
• You have a genuine interest in the energy sector and a curiosity that drives you to contribute both knowledge and engagement.
• You enjoy working both independently and in teams, where collaboration is a central part of our culture.
• You have analytical skills, a structured approach to work, and a drive to develop both yourself and others and to find ways forward.
