Operations Technician for the Service Unit

About Us

Clinical Microbiology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital currently employs around 260 staff. Here, clinical microbiological diagnostics of bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections are conducted. Teaching, outreach information activities, as well as research and development are also part of our mission. The operations are divided into three laboratory units, and the current position is located in our service unit, which consists of about 15 people, including 7 on the Substrate Department. The service unit provides service for all laboratories within Clinical Microbiology at Guldhedsgatan 10.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for an Operations Technician for the service unit. The service area performs maintenance and emergency service on the various instruments and devices of the laboratories and resolves faults and deficiencies in the laboratories' other equipment. Contact with companies for the procurement of spare parts and accessories. Review and connection of alarms in low-temperature freezers, installation of UPS systems for instruments. Assist external suppliers in their service assignments for the operations. Communicate with the supplier of the temperature monitoring system and assist with troubleshooting of equipment, nodes, connections, and networks. If necessary, assemble laboratory equipment. Generally assist regarding the laboratory's premises and equipment.

About You

We are looking for someone with a technical high school education, preferably in electrical, telecommunications, or data. If you also have further education equivalent to a vocational college in operations and maintenance or data, or equivalent education or experience deemed equivalent, it is a significant plus. You have good knowledge of both Swedish and English, as the role requires you to understand and follow instructions and read manuals.

We value your ability to collaborate and plan your tasks effectively. Good cooperation with the other staff in the laboratories is crucial for performing the work in the best way and understanding the staff's needs for assistance.
