Palliative Team in Hudiksvall Seeks Nurse

The palliative teams work in a multiprofessional manner and consist of doctors, nurses, social workers, representatives of the hospital church, and medical secretaries. In the teams, we work together to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients and their relatives. Most of our patients have an incurable cancer disease or ALS. The teams coordinate various care efforts and collaborate with other hospital departments as well as with the municipality's home care and primary care. The unit's mission also includes competence dissemination to other actors within palliative care in the region. The palliative unit consists of four palliative teams located in Bollnäs, Söderhamn, Hudiksvall, and Gävle.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Take the opportunity to work with us in the palliative team in Hudiksvall to develop specialized palliative care in northern Hälsingland. We are looking for someone who is stimulated by varied tasks and has the ability to work independently in person-centered care. You will be responsible, together with other team members, for the patient's planning and care at home. We offer you a job in palliative care where you have good development opportunities, such as the possibility of specialist nurse training. We work daytime Monday to Friday between 08:00-17:00.

As a nurse with us, you will, among other things:

• provide telephone advice and information to patients and relatives
• have close collaboration with home care nurses and also with other actors involved in the patients' care
• make home visits together with doctors and/or the team's social worker
• conduct your own home visits where you, as a nurse, follow up and assess patients' and relatives' needs for care and support
• manage pain pumps, blood transfusions, certain sampling, and dressings
• disseminate knowledge in palliative care by conducting training for other healthcare personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are interested in development and improvement work, confident in your professional role, and have the ability to meet people in a professional and empathetic manner. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

In the role of nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse
• hold a B driver's license.
