Kriminalvården is hiring Production Leader/Work Supervisor

Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transportation.

The Saltvik area includes the prisons Saltvik, Härnösand, and Ljustadalen, as well as the remand center Saltvik. Within the area, there is a wide range from the open women's prison Ljustadalen to the closed prison Saltvik, which in addition to regular departments also has one of the country's three security units. The prison in Härnösand is also a closed facility. In the capacity increase, 390 employees are expected to manage and develop the operations that accommodate up to 430 inmates. The largest professional group is prison officers, but there are also healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc. The inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or work within the prison's packaging/assembly, laundry, or wood and mechanical industries. You can easily reach the Saltvik prison and remand center by bus and car and park in our staff parking. The Härnösand prison is located in the town center with good bus connections and staff parking. The Ljustadalen prison is just outside Birsta and also offers staff parking and good bus connections.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be employed as a Production Leader/Work Supervisor, which practically means that you will guide clients in their employment and work training in our production. At the Saltvik prison's production, we have a mechanical workshop, laundry, textile, assembly, and packaging department where we manufacture animal products for external customers and all internal service equipment for Kriminalvården. At the Härnösand prison, clients work in carpentry, digital printing, sewing, assembly, and laundry.

In your daily work, you will have direct contact with our clients and contribute to their learning and development. Kriminalvården's recidivism prevention work aims for the inmates to break the vicious cycle during their sentence, and practical work training plays an important role in that process. Some clients have limited work experience, and the main purpose of the operation is to contribute to learning but also to be part of social training. Working as a work supervisor with us at Kriminalvården suits you if you want a meaningful job.

Through your knowledge and experience, you contribute to more clients successfully reintegrating after their sentence. Employment affects the clients' future opportunities for employment after release, as well as their ability to be self-sufficient without resorting to crime.

The summer temporary position begins with a local introduction to the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share Kriminalvården's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in guiding others in work
• Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that Kriminalvården deems relevant.
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Good computer skills

It is meritorious if you have:

• Work experience from corrections, security work, social care, educational work, psychiatry, or healthcare and social work
• Work experience in a supervisory role within industrial work
• Experience in digital printing, textile/clothing, laundry, wood, or metal work
• A valid driver's license (B)
