Summer Job in Park Maintenance at Strängnäs Municipality

The Street & Park Operations is part of the Technical and Service Office in Strängnäs Municipality and takes care of the green public spaces. We value and are passionate about the green and sustainable. We mainly work with the operation and maintenance of the municipality's public areas such as streets, squares, grass areas, plantings, playgrounds, and forests. We also ensure that waste management and winter road maintenance function properly. Staff are located in Strängnäs, Mariefred, Åkers Styckebruk, and Stallarholmen.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks will vary within park maintenance in public spaces. This means that together with your colleagues, you will take care of the municipality's green areas and primarily maintain park environments regarding weeding, watering, litter picking, etc.

You should appreciate being outdoors in various weather conditions and enjoy beautifying our green environments. The work can sometimes be physically demanding, which requires good physical fitness, and the work is also varied and diverse. Since the work takes place in a public environment, you will also meet, converse with, and answer questions from our residents daily.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A valid B driver's license.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is considered an advantage if you have:

• Experience in similar work and/or work in a public environment.
• Gardening education.
• Experience operating a tractor or tool carrier.

Your personal qualities are important to us! We are looking for someone who is passionate about the green environment with a willingness to learn new things. You are engaged and responsible with a positive attitude. You find it easy to collaborate and contribute to a good work climate, but you can also work independently.
