What do we offer?

We are in an exciting phase of building the Volvo Cars Torslanda Battery Factory, where we are creating a strong team that can develop future manufacturing processes for our next generation of electric cars. Our task is to work together with other teams and functions to develop and secure the best possible processes for our upcoming Battery Factory.

You will have a unique opportunity to be involved at an early stage where we together set the tone for the next chapter in our company history by designing work methods, processes, and building a strong team.

Until production starts in 2026, you will work in a project phase, where we will work through different phases and proactively with process/product improvements and gradually ramp up to meet the need to deliver batteries safely with the right quality and right delivery to our end customers in 2026. Here you will be part of the operational team that builds our first batteries. You will build knowledge and also spread knowledge as we grow as a factory, but also contribute to finding improvements and deviations during the construction process.

What will you do?

As an operator in the Battery Factory, you will build components on the assembly line. The assemblies involve the construction of various components on different sections of the line where everyone's experience and knowledge are utilized in the best way. You will be a member of a team that at production start will consist of between 5-8 team members. Each team has an overall responsibility for quality, economy, delivery, and team development.

It is worth noting that during the project phase we will work across boundaries and contribute to ensuring safety, training, quality, delivery, cleaning improvements, deviation handling, and building our stations, etc., to be production-ready for full pace by 2026.

Working hours:

This position is daytime-based. Until production starts, everyone will work in the project phase during daytime.

You and your skills

We are looking for someone with previous industrial experience or experience from other physically demanding work as well as approved grades at the high school level in Swedish 1/A, Mathematics 1/A, English 5/A, and Social Studies 1/A. We also see that you have knowledge of Andon, 5S, Visual management, and basic problem-solving.

You need to have good knowledge of both English and Swedish in speech and writing.
