Treatment Pedagogue at SiS Youth Home Folåsa

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and for adults with addiction. SiS Youth Home Folåsa receives school-age girls with psychosocial issues as well as criminal behavior and addiction.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes, among other things, to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule of days, evenings, and weekends.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You easily collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You should also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) focused on social/pedagogical treatment work or an equivalent education from a university
  • A valid driving license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
