Operations Controller to the Social and Care Office's Staff

The Social and Care Office's Staff is looking for an operations controller who wants to be part of our development work and contribute to good quality in our operations.

The role primarily targets self-management within the areas of elderly care and disability care but also towards authorities as well as individual and family care and office-wide issues as needed. This is a position for you who want to be involved in developing and continuously improving our operations based on planning, follow-up, and analysis!

About us

The staff belongs to the municipality's social and care office, which is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, disability care, and individual and family care. The department's vision is to purposefully drive development forward together with the office's operations in a cohesive manner to meet the future needs for care and support, the political goals, legislative requirements, and the expectations of the residents of Väsby.

About the position

The role of operations controller primarily involves being a support and resource for operations managers within self-management (elderly care and disability care) in the work of planning, analyzing, improving, and following up on the operational goals from both an operational, strategic, and economic perspective.

In the role, you are responsible for coordinating and compiling the conditions for the operation's multi-year plan, operational plan, annual report, interim reports, and internal controls to be reported to the board. You will have many contact points and collaborate with colleagues with different competencies and areas of responsibility. You will work closely with managers within our operations as well as with the economic controller for the area. The tasks include, among others:

  • Participate in operational planning and follow-up according to the municipality's annual cycle and governance model
  • Internal control and audit related to governance and management processes
  • Prepare cases and develop decision-making materials
  • Case handling towards the board
  • Investigations, referral handling, reporting, and accounting towards operations and the board
  • Monitoring the external environment regarding legislation, etc.
  • Identify development opportunities and prepare well-founded decision-making materials for the operational work that the operations managers will conduct
  • Other essential governance and management processes based on assignments and the needs of the operations

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree that the employer assesses as relevant
  • Current and several years of experience in the role of operations controller, operations developer, method developer, or similar
  • Current experience of independently driving complex development and improvement work
  • Very good communication skills and can express yourself fluently and pedagogically in Swedish in both speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Education in process management, process development, or analysis
  • Knowledge and experience of working with management systems, preferably in Stratsys
  • Experience of working in elderly care and disability care
  • Experience in change management

As a person, you are structured by working according to a clear process, organizing and planning your work well, completing what has been started, and meeting deadlines. Furthermore, it is important that you are collaborative as you will have many contact points and work closely with managers and economic controllers. We also believe that you need to be analytical to fit into the role, solving problems without missing the long-term strategies, seeing logic and connections in complex information.
