Social Worker for the Reception Unit

The Reception Unit is one of 6 units within the area of children, youth, and family. The unit currently consists of 10 social workers in the reception group, two group leaders, mentors, and an administrative assistant, led by a unit manager.

Your role
In the role of social worker in the reception group, your main tasks will include:
- handling cases according to SoL and LVU
- managing incoming applications, reports of concern, and making safety assessments
- collaborating and cooperating with both internal colleagues and external partners
- having a consulting role
- meeting children, youth, and their families and being the face of social services
- managing unforeseen events and making quick assessments
- guiding and referring to other actors
Your qualifications and experience
You who are applying have:
- a degree in social work
- several years of experience in public authority work within the area of children and youth
Meritorious are:
- Experience working in the operational system Paraplyt
- Knowledge of and experience working in accordance with Signs of Safety, such as safety planning
- MI
As a social worker in the reception group, you need to maintain a professional attitude regardless of the situation, be adaptable, and easily adjust based on new circumstances and priorities. Given that the tasks are varied, you need to be able to remain calm and stable even in pressured situations. You need to maintain a realistic perspective and focus on the right things.
Since a large part of your role will involve collaboration, you need to contribute to good cooperation by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach. You invite dialogue, listen actively, and adapt communication based on the current situation.
We in the reception group are often the first to meet families when they come into contact with social services. Therefore, we are looking for someone who can listen and adapt their communication to the recipient and situation and has the ability to be secure and stable in their professional role.
