Remand Prison Kronoberg is a security remand prison located in the heart of Kungsholmen near the City Hall and a 10-minute walk from the Central Station. The prison has over 300 places and is one of Sweden's largest remand prisons. As a correctional officer, you hold an important position in the justice chain.
The prison has a security department, intake and detention, care department, as well as communal and restriction departments, and is located in the police quarter. As an employee, you have free access to the police gym and wellness grants. There is also the possibility of internal mobility within the various areas of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a case officer for Intik (the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's system for inmates' telephony) and visits, you are responsible for processing inmates' cases by checking, assessing, and deciding on visits and telephony within Intik to relatives. This also includes booking certain visits. The position also involves collaborating with functions both within and outside the prison, as well as with other actors, such as authorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have a structured and organized way of working, are meticulous and quality-conscious. You plan and execute your work efficiently, even under high workloads. You are pedagogical and have a clear way of communicating, adapting how you convey information based on the recipient to ensure that your message is understood.
The work requires a high level of confidentiality and security awareness, as well as an understanding of how we assess security and why we make the assessments we do. The position involves a lot of communication and good collaboration skills, as you will be in contact with inmates, colleagues, other authorities, etc., which also requires a service-oriented approach. You must be responsible and able to make your own assessments and decisions, as well as have the ability to determine which cases should be anchored with the nearest supervisor.

Requirements
- Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
- Experience in case management, investigative work, or decision-making relevant to the field.
- Good administrative law knowledge.
- Good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
- Good computer skills.
Meritorious
- Completed basic training of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
- Experience collaborating with relevant actors, e.g., other authorities.
- Experience in similar work in a remand prison.
OTHER
We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance including a security interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective. You need to be a Swedish citizen, but you may have a foreign background. You will receive more information about the security clearance during your employment interview.
