We are looking for two orthodontic assistants/dental nurses with an interest in orthodontics who are interested in eventually undergoing orthodontic assistant training.

The orthodontic assistant training is a 2-year supplementary education that takes place during working hours and is funded by the employer.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

At the Orthodontic Clinic, you will meet patients of all ages with various care needs. As a dental nurse with us, you play an important role in ensuring that patients feel well received and secure during their visit. You will utilize your entire skill set while the position also requires creativity, empathy, and a sense of service. We work in teams with varying compositions, where dental nurses and orthodontic assistants independently perform part of the patient treatment within their area of competence.

Your tasks will include:

• Assisting in examinations and treatments
• Your own patient treatments within your competence
• X-ray management
• Photography
• Intraoral scanning
• Administrative tasks

The Orthodontic Clinic is a large clinic with approximately 50 employees and 12 training positions for national and international specialist training of dentists. The clinic is located at Odontologen alongside the area's other specialist clinics.

Competence Requirements and Profile

Orthodontic assistant or trained dental nurse with an approved education from MYH (The Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education).

Knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to Swedish high school or Swedish C1 in both spoken and written form.

Good computer skills.

Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and wisely.

Ability to present a stable and calm impression even when there is a lot to do.

Ability to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive manner.

Since the clinic conducts international specialist training, knowledge of English is an advantage. In a large clinic with many employees, flexibility is highly valued. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

If you are new to the profession, you will receive an individually tailored mentoring program during your initial period. The mentoring program is part of our two-year development program for newly graduated dental nurses.

About the Recruitment Process

If you are not already employed with us, you will be contacted by a recruiter from the HR unit for an interview. After the application period ends, the clinic manager will select candidates and invite them for an interview at the clinic. These interviews are scheduled for weeks 13-14.

Folktandvården Västra Götaland conducts checks in suspicion and criminal records before employment.
