Transport Planner (Domestic) at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are now looking for you who want to work as a Transport Planner (Domestic) with us at the National Transport Unit for 12 months.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The planning operations in Arvidsjaur are organized into two workgroups, one for domestic and one for international transport. Within each workgroup, the transport planner is responsible for planning transport based on established requirements for safety, efficiency, service level, and good resource management.

You will plan and coordinate transport using various means of transport to meet our partners in service level agreements. In the role of Transport Planner/Officer, you have operational responsibility equivalent to the duty officer at remand and prison facilities. This requires you to have a good overall view, make well-founded decisions, and be confident in your decision-making.

An important part of your work is to continuously collaborate with planning groups as the work is conducted at a national level and to lead transport personnel who carry out the transports nationally. The planning work consists of recurring contact internally within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service but also with clients outside our organization such as the Police, the Migration Agency, the National Board of Institutional Care, and Sweden's municipalities and regions, which places high demands on building trust in the authority.

In your work, you plan according to applicable legislation, regulations, and governing documents and have a cost responsibility that means you must manage state funds in your planning.

We are looking for you who have:

• Complete upper secondary education in the form of a diploma or upper secondary degree or other education in combination with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service assesses as equivalent.
• Several years of relevant work experience.
• Current experience of working within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service or in security or transport operations.
• Swedish citizenship.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Driving license B
• Good computer skills.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Approved Prison and Probation Service training
• Good knowledge of logistics, through education and/or work experience.
• Logistics education at the university level.
• Experience in cost-effective planning.
• Experience in budget-controlled work.
• Experience in transport/logistics.
• Other language skills.
• Experience from other government operations.

OTHER

We place high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance including a security interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective.
