Karlshamn Parish is looking for a church musician/musician

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a dedicated team in a parish with both urban and rural areas. We enjoy working in teams and in various constellations around both everyday tasks and projects. In the parish, we have over two hundred active choir singers distributed across seven adult choirs and four children/youth choirs. Karlshamn also has a rich cultural life and offers many opportunities for collaborations with other actors in the community.

We want to utilize your strengths and believe that you can become an asset and an inspiring link in our team of four musicians and two educators. Your tasks include playing at services and ceremonies as well as leading a mixed church choir and a project-based children's choir. There is also the possibility for projects based on your strengths.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who has a church music degree or a musical education that the employer considers equivalent.

In your work, you take responsibility for both planning and execution and are driven by creating engagement and participation. The job requires good social skills to meet people in services and activities. You find it easy to make connections and are eager to collaborate with other actors. It is important that you want to work in and for the Church of Sweden. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

The position is a permanent employment at 100% where both day, evening, and weekend work occurs. Start date according to agreement.

Karlshamn Parish has about 9000 members within Karlshamn city and in the rural areas of Hällaryd and Åryd, with a church in each location. Karlshamn Parish is divided into two different operational areas: parish activities and funeral services. In total, we are about 40 employees, who together with elected representatives and volunteers work towards the vision “Through joy and sorrow in all stages of life” and operate through the guiding principles: openness, community, and care. These words permeate all our activities.

Membership in the Church of Sweden is required for the position.

You need to master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

A criminal record extract is required.

A B driver's license is required.
