The Opportunity
The Production Trainee Program at Hitachi Energy in Ludvika offers a unique opportunity to try various tasks within our factories. You will have the chance to work and develop within production and become part of an innovative work environment. The program lasts for ten months, during which you will get to know Hitachi Energy by working in three different production teams across our various factories. A position in the production trainee program is a permanent employment starting on September 1, 2025.
The program includes all necessary requirements and safety training to ensure that you can work in our factories. Additionally, you will participate in team-building activities with other trainees throughout the program.

We are now looking for engaged and ambitious individuals who want to be part of our production trainee program and work and develop within production.
How You Will Make an Impact
- The program starts with introductory weeks with preparatory requirements and safety training needed to work in production at Hitachi Energy.
- You will rotate and try tasks in three different factories, three months each somewhere in the production units; Power Transformers, HVDC, Breakers, Capacitors, Surge Arresters, and Transformer Components, in Ludvika and Smedjebacken.
- You will have the opportunity to try various tasks in areas such as assembly, warehousing, testing, CNC, welding, etc., depending on your educational background.
Your Background
- Interest in working in a practical profession and developing within production.
- Approved high school diploma, or currently in the last term of high school and will obtain an approved diploma. It is advantageous if you have studied in the Electrical & Energy program, industrial program, or another technical high school line, but this is not a requirement; we place the greatest emphasis on your personal qualities and skills.
- You have a maximum of two years of work experience.
- You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good knowledge of English.
- You have a valid work permit to work in Sweden.
- You are not already employed through a staffing agency or have a position within Hitachi Energy.
As a person, we see that you are meticulous, engaged, and curious, and can work calmly and methodically in different situations and handle changes with flexibility, joy, and commitment. You thrive in working both independently and in a team and are keen to achieve set goals with a focus on safety and quality.
