Do you want to work with aquatic biology in some of Sweden's most extensive development and exploitation projects? We are looking for an experienced aquatic biologist who wants to contribute their expertise to assignments related to, among other things, infrastructure, energy, industry, and environmental monitoring.

Pelagia's headquarters are located in Umeå, but you as an applicant can be resident anywhere in Norrland!

In this role, you will work with inventory, analysis, and advisory services within aquatic ecology and water environments. The tasks may include, among other things, habitat mapping, electrofishing, nature value assessments, environmental investigations, and the preparation of material for permit and consultation processes. You will participate in the entire project chain – from planning and conducting fieldwork to analysis, report writing, and dialogue with authorities, clients, and other stakeholders.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues within, for example, environment, natural environment, and permit processes, where you contribute specialist knowledge about lakes, watercourses, and other aquatic environments.

We are looking for you who have a relevant higher education or university degree in biology, ecology, limnology, or equivalent, and have experience working with aquatic biology or ecology. You have documented experience in, for example, habitat mapping or electrofishing.

As a person, you are self-reliant, structured, and communicative. You enjoy combining practical fieldwork with analytical work and have the ability to translate ecological knowledge into clear and well-founded recommendations.
