Job Description

As a car mechanic for our client in Strängnäs, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing passenger cars to ensure functionality, safety, and quality before delivery or after repair. You will work in a workshop environment alongside technicians and administrative staff, where accuracy, clear documentation, and problem-solving are central. The role includes mechanical work, electrical checks, test drives, and verification of completed actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, repairs, and component replacements according to manufacturer instructions and workshop procedures

• Conduct diagnostics using diagnostic tools, read error codes, and propose appropriate actions

• Inspect brakes, steering, suspension, lighting, tires, exhaust systems, and vehicle electrical systems

• Perform test drives and functional tests to verify that actions have been carried out correctly

• Document completed work in the workshop system and report deviations or needs for further action

• Collaborate with colleagues to reproduce faults, plan work, and ensure high quality

• Ensure order and safety in the work area and follow procedures for work environment and environmental management

Qualifications

• Education in automotive mechanics or equivalent practical experience from a workshop is an asset

• Experience in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing passenger cars is desirable

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and electronic control systems

• Good computer skills for documentation in administrative systems

• Ability to communicate clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing

• Meticulous, safety-conscious, and solution-focused with good teamwork skills

• Driver's license B (manual) is required
