Lead Product Developer Soft Goods

Welcome to join our Global Product Development Team in Hillerstorp as our next Lead Product Developer Soft Goods.
At Thule, we believe in hands-on product development, and in recent years, we have invested heavily in our internal sewing workshop to support the development of products such as strollers, bike trailers, and rooftop tents. To enable this expansion, we are now strengthening our Soft Goods/Textile team with additional members.
Your Responsibilities
As a Lead Product Developer Soft Goods, you will hold a key role in the soft goods development team, a team that supports all product development projects involving textiles. You will coordinate the soft goods team's tasks in new development projects.
In this position, you will drive the technical part of soft goods product development, from product initiation to ready for production.
You will be the spokesperson for soft goods development in the project, coordinating the work with internal project teams and external suppliers and partners.
You will work closely with other Lead Product Developers Soft Goods to secure resource planning.
You will actively collaborate with the main project leader, chief engineer, design engineers, industrial design, and the product management team. To succeed in this role, it is vital to understand the importance of and have a high ability to follow routines and processes.
In this role, you will deliver projects according to agreed plans, in terms of cost, time, and project budget.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the textile part of the product meets the requirements for quality and function.
Your Profile
- You understand pattern design, prototype sewing, and product development, especially with mixed materials like textiles on hard constructions.
- You have a BSc degree in Textile Product Development and Entrepreneurship, or other relevant engineering degree with a minimum of 3+ years of work experience from product development involving textiles.
- We believe that you are both creative and innovative, as well as analytical.
- You motivate teams to deliver quality work on time, listen well, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a structured yet flexible approach.
- High ability to present technical solutions and challenges, and able to adjust the way of communication depending on the audience.
- You are fluent in English, and Swedish is a plus but not a demand.

We have over 200 engineers working in our Global Product Development Department, and to keep the momentum in successful product development innovation, most of our Product Development functions are in-house, such as project managers, industrial designers, concept, design, prototype, simulation, and test engineers.
